Energy “ A balanced future" - NOF Conference Review 2015
NOF Energy’s 4th annual conference, held in Newcastle was a huge success. The conference staged a host of excellent speakers ranging from Charles Hendry MP, chair of a cross-party parliamentary committee on energy, to Garry Varney, of US contractors and Shale Gas pioneers Devon Energy.
Energy: A Balanced Future has become an established national event on the energy sector calendar. It provides information and the opportunity to debate developments in the oil, gas nuclear and offshore renewables sectors not only in the UK but also internationally. The fact remains that the UK’s power supply still comes from comes from natural gas and with no renewable alternative, securing the future of UK gas supply is an important priority. The onshore supply chain in the UK will therefore need to develop if it is to provide a significant chunk of our gas needs from our own reserves. As always with an NOF event the excellent speeches were coupled with high attendance rate of 350+ delegates. This provided an excellent opportunity for networking and for Datalink to demonstrate their expertise in ATEX electronics design and manufacture which was well received.
