Surface Mount Assembly
Surface mount PCB Assembly is principal to our manufacturing activities. It requires us to continually commit to investment in production equipment. The Mirae 200L surface mount placement line has the ability to place 01005 components through to large SMT devices, BGAs, QFPs and TSOPs. With high speed placement of up to 21,000 components per hour.
Plated Through Hole or conventional PCB assemblies have been part of our services for over thirty years. We have the capability to manage quick turn-around prototypes, low volume production through to a fully commercial product.
We manufacture a full range of cable assemblies and cable looms in a diverse range of quantities and complexities. Including control panels, interconnecting ribbon cables, RF cabling and encapsulated assemblies capable of operating at extreme temperatures.
Potting & Encapsulation
We have a long history designing 'potted' or 'encapsulated' products for ATEX certified products. Historically we have worked with heavily audited supply partners to provide the service. In 2018 Datalink purchased an Easy Composites evacuation chamber. This enabled additional control of the process and thereby reducing risk and improving potential throughput for the business.
Test & Inspection
We place strategic importance on quality throughout the company with the aim of achieving zero defects. This is demonstrated by the importance that the company places on the training of our staff in quality processes and control systems. First offs are 100% visually inspected using magnification equipment. All assemblies are automatically inspected using the DCB EasyVision system (AOI).
Turnkey Product Build
Our engineers are highly trained with a diverse range of skill sets. We are able to offer full turnkey services across a wide range of industry sectors. From rugged assemblies for the oil and gas industry through to medical equipment. We manage the entire manufacturing process. When our customers require it; we also organise final packaging and logistics to the end user.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
It is vital to the success of a new product to ensure it can be manufactured efficiently to the specified quality, on budget. Datalink incorporates Design For Manufacture (DFM) at the very beginning of the process all the way through to volume production. As a new product moves into manufacture our NPI Engineer uses a prescriptive NPI system to oversee the manufacturing process. Their role is to identify opportunities for process or product improvement, which we feed back to the customer for their consideration and possible incorporation in future product builds.
